Race4Warriors 5K, 10K & Half Marathon Challenges

The event on May 9, 2026 is based at American Legion Post 17 in Lewes, Delaware and includes races that travel through Cape Henlopen State Park, the historic Fort Miles area, and Rehoboth Beach. The three distance events are USATF certified and start and finish at the same location.

Participants may choose from three formats for each distance: a Run, a March (race-walk), or a Heavy March, which is a trail option requiring a 15 lb pack. The event combines competitive racing with educational and community elements. A Middle East historical exhibit will be available on site, and a post-race area will feature local vendors and live music through the afternoon.

Packet pickup is handled at American Legion Post 17 on the day before the race and there is also day-of packet pickup near the starting area. Runners registered by May 3, 2026 are guaranteed an event t-shirt at check-in. All finishers receive a race medallion, and the event is intended to support Wounded Warriors and homeless veterans. The organizers state the event proceeds in typical weather but may be adjusted if conditions are unsafe for outdoor activity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
