Race You to the Summit
Race You to the Summit is an established fell running event held in Littleborough. The race has a long history spanning nearly six decades and is conducted under the rules of the Fell Runners Association. The event base is located at the Summit Inn, which serves as both the starting point and the final destination for the participants.
The primary route covers a distance of 4.3 miles and includes over 800 feet of ascent. Runners follow a course from the Summit Inn up to the White House pub near Blackstone Edge. Upon reaching the White House pub, participants must touch the wall of the building before turning around to return to the starting venue.
The event provides categories for various age groups, including:
- Under 9s
- Under 11s
- Under 13s
- Under 15s
- Under 17s
- Seniors
Since the race takes place on Halloween, participants frequently wear costumes, and prizes are awarded for the best attire. Registration is available via pre-entry or on the day of the event.
