30th Annual Race with Your Heart
The 30th Annual Race with Your Heart takes place at Eureka Lake in Eureka, Illinois. This community event features multiple distance options and benefits Heartline and Heart House. The courses utilize the roads and paths around Eureka upper lake park, passing through woodlands and local subdivisions.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- 10K Run
- 5K Run
- 1.5 Mile Walk (untimed)
- Kids Fun Run (untimed)
The running courses are positioned on mostly flat terrain, though they include specific sections with hills ascending the Eureka Lake dam. The 1.5 mile walk is held on a flat surface around the lake. Timing and scoring services for the competitive races are provided by ShaZam Racing.
Registration includes free admission for children aged 10 and under. The event also offers a group rate where four participants can register for the price of three. Participants who register by mid-May are guaranteed an event shirt.
Post-race activities are held at the Eureka Lake Pavilion near the intersection of Lake Road and Eastview Circle. These festivities include a pancake and sausage breakfast, which is free for participants, along with raffles and a celebration event. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups and weight classes.
