Race to the Sunset 5k
Race to the Sunset 5k is event number 9 in the Race the Region Racing Series, scheduled for 09/20/2026 in Chesterton, Indiana at 1600 N 25 E Rooftop. The event features a 5K Run/Walk with a registration fee of $30.00, and all participants must register online.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Participants who finish before sunset receive a special finisher medal to note that achievement. Overall and age group awards are offered; awards may be claimed within 14 days after the event at The Extra Mile Fitness Co., 3400 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383. After 14 days unclaimed awards will be donated or recycled.
Race features include timing mats at the starting line, chip timing for finish results, live results delivered by text and email messaging, and directional signs at all turns. There is no processing fee for online registration. Race premium sizes are guaranteed to registrants by August 31st.
Pre-race packet pick up is available September 18 and 19 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and September 20 from Noon to 3:00 PM at The Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
