Race the Sunset 5K - Chesterton, IN
Race the Sunset is event number 9 in the Race the Region Racing Series. The event features a 5K Run/Walk held at 1600 N 25 E Rooftop in Chesterton, Indiana.
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal; participants who finish before the sun sets receive a special finisher medal to note that achievement. Awards are presented for Top Overall Male and Female, Top Masters Male and Female (age 40 and over), and the top three finishers in the following age groups: 10 & under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 and up.
The event uses timing mats at the starting line and chip timing for finish results, with live result notifications available via text and email. All course turns are marked with directional signs. There is no processing fee for online signup and race premium sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by August 31st.
Packet pick up is available at Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso, IN on pre-race dates and on race day. A park entry fee applies; presenting a bib or registration confirmation at the gate allows entry without paying. Participants who start late may be subject to assignment of gun time or disqualification. Overall and age group awards must be claimed within 14 days at Extra Mile Fitness Co.
