Event overview
The Race to Space Marathon & Half Marathon takes place in Huntsville, Alabama on March 21-22, 2026. The event includes a full marathon, a half marathon and the Saturn "V" 5K. Runners start and finish at Bridge Street Town Centre, and the course runs through Cummings Research Park, described as the nation's second largest research park. Chip timing and several pacing groups will be provided. A post-race area will feature vendors and live music. Logistics, awards and cutoffs
Packet pickup is at RunningLane, 2407 Memorial Parkway SW, Huntsville, AL 35801, on Wednesday–Friday (March 18–20) from 11:00 to 6:00, with additional pickup windows on Saturday and Sunday. The first 1,000 registrants are guaranteed a long-sleeve technical shirt; later registrants will receive a Race to Space shirt. All finishers receive a finisher medal and shirt. Age-group award categories are listed for each event. The half marathon has a 4-hour course time limit and the marathon a 6-hour limit; marathon runners must begin their second loop before 2 hours 50 minutes or they will be redirected to the half marathon finish (split at mile 12.9). The 2026 winners of the marathon and half marathon will receive $500; a course-record bonus structure is described beginning in 2027. Course maps and elevation profiles are provided online.
