Race to Replace Hate 5k
The Race to Replace Hate 5k is an annual event held at Asia Times Square in Grand Prairie, Texas. This competition takes place during the Asian Heritage Fest to recognize Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. The event features both a physical race and a virtual participation option.
Participants can choose from the following event formats:
- 3.1 Miles (5k) road race
- Virtual 5k for remote participation
The course is open to a variety of participants, including those with strollers and dogs. Children aged three and under are permitted to participate for free. For those choosing the in-person event, timing chips are included with the race bibs. Registered participants receive an exclusive performance shirt, a custom finisher medal, and entry into a raffle for baseball tickets and jerseys.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers. These prizes include trophies, cash awards, and vendor credits for the concurrent Asian Heritage Fest. Net proceeds from registration fees are donated to the Asian American / Pacific Islander Nurses Association. For participants choosing the virtual option, medals and shirts are delivered by mail.
