18th Annual Race to Embrace Independence 5K Run/Walk
The event is the 18th annual Race to Embrace Independence, held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Marian House in Baltimore. The race facilities center on Marian House at 949 Gorsuch Avenue, and the 900 block of Gorsuch Avenue will be closed for race activities.
Proceeds from the event directly support Marian House, a holistic, healing community that provides housing and support services for women and their children. Marian House describes its environment as safe, sober, and loving, and focuses on helping residents confront barriers and transition to stable, independent lives.
The day’s schedule includes registration, welcome remarks and introductions, announcements, and awards. Parking is restricted on the 900 block of Gorsuch Avenue; free street parking is available on surrounding blocks. Free parking is also available in the Johns Hopkins Eastern Campus lots at 1101 E. 33rd Street, with volunteers assisting attendees.
