The Race to Cure Sarcoma North Carolina is a community-focused athletic event held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. Organized by the Sarcoma Foundation of America in partnership with the Duke Cancer Center, the event serves to raise awareness and funds for medical research related to sarcoma. This gathering brings together survivors, families, and community members impacted by the disease.
Participants have several options for involvement, including timed competitive segments and untimed recreational paths. The event features the following distances:
- 5K timed run for adult participants
- 5K untimed run or 1 mile walk for adults
- 5K untimed run or 1 mile walk for children ages 6-12
- 5K virtual participation option
Children age five and under can participate at no cost. The course is situated within the 201 Soccer Park Drive complex. Those unable to attend in person can participate through a virtual registration, allowing them to complete the distance from their own location. Registration for in-person events typically closes a few days before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
