Race Through the Decades : 5K for The Kids
The Oblong Children’s Christian Home presents Race Through the Decades, a themed 5K (3.1 miles) run or walk on October 31, 2026, at 108 Legion Parkway in Oblong, Illinois. The event welcomes individuals, families, and teams and includes a costume contest with prizes.
Participants are encouraged to dress in decade-themed costumes from the 1950s through the 1990s. Entry requires a non-refundable fee of $30. A guaranteed event T shirt is available for those who meet the October 9 deadline. Registration opens April 13, 2026, and final registration is available through race morning.
Proceeds support children in need at the Oblong Children’s Christian Home. Awards are presented after the event by age groups (10 & under; 11–15; 16–20; 21–30; 31–40; 41–50; 51–60; 61–71; 72 & over), with male and female placings in each group and overall male and female winners.
