Event overview
Race the Helix-Upstate takes place on March 7, 2026 in Greenville, SC at Lake Conestee Nature Park (840 Mauldin Rd). The event supports the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation; proceeds fund genetics services, testing, and research for families affected by genetic disorders. The race offers both live and virtual participation options.

The live 5K is a trail run with chip timing. The live 1 mile is on a paved course. Both live courses can accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. Pre-packaged snacks, water, and coffee will be provided at the live event. Onsite registration is available via participants' personal devices and remains open until the event start.
Award divisions for the live event include top male and female overall, plus male and female age-group awards for: 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and older.
Entry fees and apparel:
- 5K entry fee is $25 (t-shirt not included).
- 1 mile walk is free (t-shirt not included).
- Long-sleeve shirts can be purchased for $15; register before February 14 to guarantee shirt and size. Virtual participants who buy shirts must pick them up at a Greenwood Genetic Center location.
