The Race into Finals at Kent State University is the 10th annual edition, held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Henderson Hall, College of Nursing in Kent, OH 44243. The event includes these distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Proceeds benefit the College of Nursing Student Emergency Fund. Race services listed include timing, post-race snacks, and an event T-shirt (registration by April 23 guarantees a shirt).
Logistics and registration
Online registration closes May 1, 2026. Standard entry fees are $30 for the 5K (students receive $10 off with a student code) and $15 for the 1 Mile. Day-of registration is offered at higher fees: $35 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile; day-of registrations are cash or check only. A referral incentive offers a $5 refund when two people are referred.
Packet pickup is available on race day and there is an early pickup option on the Friday before the race at Henderson Hall in the afternoon. Free parking is available at the Henderson Hall R8 lot and C Science Lots; R8 lot access will be closed during the race.
Awards include top finishers (male and female) overall and by age group, a "Middle of the Pack" finisher recognition, "School Your Professor" challenge, and youngest and oldest participant categories.
