Race for Warmth
The Race for Warmth is an annual community event supporting Operation Warm Heart, a program managed by Clark Public Utilities. This donation-funded initiative provides financial assistance to local limited-income families in crisis situations who require help paying their electric bills. Since its inception in 2015, the event has raised nearly $560,000 for families in the local community. Every dollar from the registration fees is directed to this charitable cause.
Participants can choose between two main distances for the run or walk:
- 10 km
- 5 km
The event also includes a free Kids Fun Run. For those who wish to support the cause without participating in the physical race, a "Sleep In To Stay Warm" option allows for tax-deductible donations to be made directly to the program.
Registered participants receive a variety of event items, including a long-sleeve performance shirt, an official bib number, and a drawstring backpack containing various items. Packet pick-up is organized on the morning of the event. The course routes are located in Vancouver, Washington, with the start and finish operations centered around local service facilities. Numerous local businesses and organizations provide sponsorship and support for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
