Race for the Summitt 5K
The 13th Annual Race for the Summitt 5K is organized by current pharmacy students at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy through the American Pharmacist Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP). The event takes place at Tyson Park, 2351 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
The event is a 5 kilometer running and walking event. Registration opens 6/12/2026 and closes 9/16/2026. The listed registration fee is $25.00. Race winners will be determined by the top finishers in each gender group.
All proceeds from the race are given to the Pat Summitt Foundation, which supports research and awareness of Alzheimer’s disease. Pat Summitt was head coach of the Lady Vols from 1974 to 2012, accrued over 1,000 career wins, and did not have a losing season at the University of Tennessee. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011 and died in 2016.
