Race for the Red 5K

Race for the Red is a group of 5K events held in Grand Rapids at Riverside Park, located at 2001 Monroe Ave NE. The in-person course uses the park paths on a closed route and is described as flat and fast. Participants in the in-person events receive a unique firefighter themed shirt and a finisher medal.

The program includes an in-person 5K and a turnout gear challenge 5K. The turnout challenge requires participants to provide their own turnout gear; boots may be omitted. A special prize is awarded to the first place finisher in the turnout challenge.

A virtual 5K option is available for those not attending in person. For the virtual event the organizer will mail the event shirt and finisher medal to registered participants.
