Race for SCOPE
The Race for SCOPE is a community athletic event held in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. This event raises funds for Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education, a non-profit organization focused on providing children from underserved communities with access to summer camp experiences. Participants assist in supporting personal growth and social interaction for children through these fundraising efforts.
The event features two main distances:
- 5K running race
- 1 Mile walk
The course is set on the Cynwyd Heritage Trail, starting and ending at Bala Cynwyd Park. It follows a scenic out-and-back route with a turnaround point located just past the park. The race is professionally timed, ensuring participants receive accurate results for their performance.
Awards are provided for the top three overall finishers as well as the top three finishers within specific age groups. Participants can access water stations during the course and enjoy refreshments at the finish line.
