Race for Renewal - Monroe, LA

Race for Renewal is the second annual community 5K walk/run held at Forsythe Park in Monroe, Louisiana on 11/07/2026. The event includes both a running distance and a short community walk and is presented to raise funds for a local day shelter and community center.

The proceeds benefit The Renewal Center, a facility that meets basic needs for people experiencing homelessness and connects them to local resources. Services provided at the center include meals, laundry services, Bible studies, educational opportunities, case management, and assistance with retrieving vital documents. The Renewal Center also offers the opportunity to earn a HiSet diploma through a partnership with Louisiana Delta Community College. The organization currently operates from a single building and plans to expand its campus to add a dining hall, men's and women/children's shelters, and transitional housing.
