Race for Reconciliation 5K
The Race for Reconciliation is a running and walking event held in Saint Louis. The event takes place on Delmar Blvd, specifically located at the historic Delmar Divide. This location is chosen to promote racial unity in collaboration with the Delmar Loop Juneteenth Celebration. The event is designed for participants of various paces and offers multiple ways to participate.
Available distances and formats include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual 5K Run/Walk
The virtual option allows participants to complete the 5K distance at any location and time that is convenient for them. Virtual runners have the choice to complete the distance in a single session or divided into several segments. Those participating virtually receive a commemorative shirt and can report their results through a dedicated portal during the designated week following the physical event.
Groups of four or more participants are eligible for a registration discount. For in-person participants, packet pickup is organized on the Friday before the race at the Big River Running Company in University City. The event also relies on volunteers to assist with various roles, including packet pickup, course management as rangers, and providing post-race refreshments.
