Race for Life Swindon at Lydiard Park
Race for Life Swindon is a running event organised by Cancer Research UK at Lydiard Park in Swindon. Available distances include:
- 10k - double lap route on mixed surfaces
- 5k
- 3k
The start area is on grass by the children's play area outside the Jungle Parc and Forest Cafe. The course follows a mixture of tarmacked paths, woodland trails, grass and gravel. The route includes some hills, uneven ground, twists and turns, and a section that rises into woodland; an alternative route can bypass that incline. The 10k is chip timed. The finish is on grass near a large oak tree a short distance from the start.
Event parking is provided free of charge on grass within Lydiard Park via the Hook Street gate. Blue badge and volunteer parking are available in the event parking area. There are very few public transport links to the site; the closest pedestrian entrance is from Gower Close and the nearest train station is Swindon, about 4.2 miles away by road. There are no electric vehicle charging points or cycle parking at the event.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, permission for dogs, suitability for pushchairs, and wheelchair accessibility with assistance. Bag drop and showers are not available.
