Swindon 10k Race for Life : Lydiard Park
This Race for Life event takes place at Lydiard Park, Hook Street, Swindon SN5 3PA and offers three distances:
- 10k (double lap)
- 5k
- 3k
The start area is on grass in line with the children's play area outside the Jungle Parc and Forest Cafe. The course uses a mixture of tarmacked paths, gravel, grass and woodland trails and includes hills, uneven ground, twists and turns. The 10k is a double lap route. The finish is on grass near a large oak tree. There is a section that climbs into woodland; an alternative route can bypass this section but may shorten the course. The route may be congested near the cafe.
Event parking is provided on grass within Lydiard Park in a designated area entered via the gate off Hook Street; stewards and temporary signage direct vehicles. Blue badge parking is available near the front of the event parking area, and volunteer parking is within the same event parking. There are no electric vehicle charging points and no cycle racks. The closest pedestrian access is from Gower Close; the nearest train station is about 4.2 miles away.
Organiser information and participant provisions are provided by Cancer Research UK. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and support resources, access to the event community, and a Race for Life medal on finishing.
