Race for Life Southend-on-Sea 5k
This event is a 5k run at Garon Park, Eastern Avenue, Southend-on-Sea SS2 4FA. The route is a double lap with the start and finish on grass. The course surface is a mixture of grass and rubber pathways. The start and finish area on the showground field is next to the 3G football pitches.
The ground is generally flat and firm underfoot but may become soft or slippery in wet weather. The route may experience congestion at certain points. The event is wheelchair accessible with assistance. Blue Badge parking is available in the Leisure Centre car park approximately 150 m from the event site. General event parking is free of charge in an overflow car park at Redgra Playing Fields, a short walk from the showground. Drop offs and volunteer parking are located at the Leisure Centre car park. There are no electric vehicle charging points on site; the nearest charging point is about 1 mile away at Osprey charging point on Priory Crescent.
Public transport access includes local bus services that drop on Eastern Avenue, around a five minute walk to the site, and Southend Central train station, about three miles from the venue. There are 16 bike racks near the Garon Park entrance and bike locks can be hired from the Pitch Side Café.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, dogs allowed, suitability for pushchairs, and accessible parking. Bag drop and showers are not available.
