The event is a Race for Life 5k taking place on Sunday 10 May 2026 at Garon Park, Eastern Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 4FA. Entry prices are shown as £15.99 and £11.00 for children. The minimum fundraising target is £50.00. The event is open to people aged 16 and over.
The route is two laps with the start and finish on grass on the showground field next to the 3G football pitches. The course surface is a mixture of grass and rubber pathways. The site and most of the course are on grass, so wheelchair users with assistance may find parts of the route hard going, especially if the ground is wet. Event staff and a contact centre are available to assist with accessibility needs. Sunflower wristbands, dementia-aware Event Managers, and a QR code for British Sign Language stage content are provided on site.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, dog access, pushchair suitability, wheelchair access, and parking. General event parking is free at Redgra Playing Fields a short walk from the showground; Blue Badge, drop-off, and volunteer parking are at the Leisure Centre car park. Bus services stop on Eastern Avenue and Southend Central station is about 3 miles away. Sixteen bike racks are available near the Garon Park entrance.
