Race for Life Plymouth : Plymouth 10k
The event takes place at The Hoe, Hoe Promenade, Plymouth. The start and finish are on hardstanding near the RAF Memorial. The course runs on paved paths, closed roads around The Hoe and pathways in Hoe Gardens, and includes steep inclines and some uneven surfaces.
The course layout:
- 10k (double lap of the 5k route)
- 5k
Routes are chip-timed. The 10k uses a double lap of the 5k course. Notable inclines occur at Lambhay Hill and Cliff Road, with Lambhay Hill having a sustained gradient of about 6.2 percent; tarmac and hardstanding may become slippery in wet weather and congestion is possible within The Hoe.
Facilities listed for the event include refreshments, toilets, and provision for pushchairs. Dogs are allowed. Bag drop and showers are not available. The event is not wheelchair accessible; alternative accessible events are noted by the organiser.
Practical information provided includes the lack of a designated event car park with multiple nearby city centre car parks available, pedestrian access via Lockyer Street and Citadel Road, and nearby bus and train services. A minimum fundraising target applies. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support, and a Race for Life medal on completion.
