Northampton 5k Race for Life - Abington Park
The event is a 5 km run held at Abington Park in Northampton. The start and finish are located at the top of the park field next to the event parking. The course winds through Abington Park and uses a mix of paved pathways and grass.
Participants must be aged 16 and over. Entry fees are listed with separate prices for adults and children and a minimum fundraising target is set.
Parking is available within the park on grass, with blue badge spaces in the general event car park. The nearest electric vehicle charging points are at The County Cricket Ground. There are bike racks in the park. A number of bus routes serve the area and the nearest train station is Northampton, about 4 miles away.
Facilities on site include refreshments, toilets and space for dogs. Bag drop and showers are not available or suitable. The start, finish and much of the course are on grass and can become boggy in poor weather; the course goes off main paths and has uneven terrain. For these reasons the event is not deemed suitable for wheelchair users or for pushchairs. Spectators can use the park paths to view participants.
Participants receive event information and support materials, including a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training resources and a finishers medal. The event is organised by Cancer Research UK and fundraising supports its research work. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
