Northampton 5k - Race for Life at Abington Park
The Northampton 5k is a fundraising running event held in Abington Park, Northampton (NN3 3AD). It is open to participants aged 16 and over and has a minimum fundraising target of £50. Entry fees are shown as £15.99 for those aged 16 and over and £11.00 for children.
The course starts and finishes at the top of the park field, alongside the event parking, and runs through Abington Park on a mix of paved paths and grass. The route goes off the main path in places and the terrain can be uneven and become boggy in poor weather. Because of this, the event is not suitable for wheelchair users. Event parking is available on grass; blue badge parking is provided in the general event car park.
On-site facilities noted include refreshments, toilets, and bicycle racks. Bag drop and showers are not available and the event is not suitable for pushchairs. Public transport options include numerous local bus routes; the nearest train station is Northampton, approximately four miles from the park.
Accessibility provisions include sunflower wristbands at the enquiries marquee, Event Managers trained as Dementia Friends, and a QR code on site to access British Sign Language stage content.
