Margate Race for Life event : Palm Bay
Margate Race for Life takes place on Sunday 12 July 2026 at Palm Bay, Palm Bay Avenue, Margate CT9 3PP. The event is open to participants aged 16 and over and includes timed and untimed options.
Distances offered:
- 10k - double lap of the 5k course, chip timed.
- 5k - single lap of the coastal route.
- 3k - shorter option.
The course starts and finishes on a mixture of grass and hardstanding and runs along coastal scenery. The route is mainly flat with a mixture of grass and tarmac surfaces. The 10k follows two laps of the 5k course.
The event site meeting point is on Palm Bay Green, on the large grass area adjacent to the Palm Bay Café close to Sackett's Gap. There is no designated event car park; parking bays are available along the main road adjacent to Palm Bay. Blue Badge bays along the edge of the site are wide enough. The closest train station is Margate Station, about an 8 minute taxi or 47 minute walk from the site. The nearest bus stop is Holly Lane Post Office serviced by LOOP, 8X breeze, 960 and BK1. Bike racks by Palm Bay Café provide roughly four spaces.
Facilities listed as available include refreshments, toilets, a bag drop, showers, and support for pushchairs. The course is suitable for wheelchair users with assistance.
