Race for Life Manchester at Heaton Park
The event takes place on Sunday 05 Jul 2026 at Heaton Park, Sheepfoot Lane, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 0DL. It is organised by Cancer Research UK and is open to participants aged 16 and over. A minimum fundraising target of £50.00 applies.
The start, finish and event site are on grass that is predominantly flat. The course combines grass, surfaced paths and woodland trails and includes various elevations. The 10k route is a double lap of the 5k course. The meeting point and start line are in The Bowl area of the park, near the bottom of Heaton Hall and close to the Boating Lake.
Event parking is available at the Lakeside Car Park on Sheepfoot Lane; this is pay and display with an hourly charge of £3.50 and is approximately a 5 to 10 minute walk to the event site along a surfaced path. The Metrolink tram stop at Heaton Park provides the closest public transport access. Cycling racks are at the visitor centre.
On-site facilities include refreshments, toilets, bag drop and showers. The event is described as wheelchair accessible with assistance because the park includes inclines and declines. Sunflower wristbands, a British Sign Language interpreter on stage and other on-site support are available.
