Race for Life Bristol 5k : The Downs
Race for Life Bristol is a 5k event taking place on Sunday 21 June 2026 at The Downs, Stoke Road, Bristol BS9 1FG. Entry is open to people aged 16 and over. The minimum fundraising target is £50. Entry fees shown are £15.99 and for children £11.00.
The course starts and finishes on grass adjacent to Ladies Mile and Stoke Road, in sight of The Water Tower. The route mostly follows the outer perimeter of Durdham Downs and Clifton Downs on mainly grass and mixed terrain, with an overall ascent of 28 m. Within the first 2 km the course passes around Wildflower Meadow along a track that can be uneven due to tree roots; an alternative tarmac route is available after about 1 km and rejoins after about 2 km. There is a slight incline from the sea wall up to Stoke Road. The route is wheelchair accessible with assistance.
Facilities at the event include refreshments, toilets, and cycle parking. Dogs are allowed and the course is suitable for pushchairs. Bag drop, showers, and onsite parking are not available. The nearest car park is Clifton Down Shopping Centre, postcode BS8 2NN. Local transport links include nearby bus services and Clifton train station about a 16 minute walk.
