Race for Life Birmingham 5k
This is a 5k running event at Cannon Hill Park, Russell Rd, Edgbaston, Birmingham (B13 8RD), organised by Cancer Research UK. The route is a double lap made up of a 2.5k circuit around park paths. The start and finish are on grass near the large grassed area by the boating lake, behind the tennis courts, golf and fairground.
Most of the course is on tarmac paths. The start and finish areas are mostly flat and firm underfoot, but the grass may become soft or muddy in wet weather. As a busy park, the route may experience congestion at times.
Entry categories and costs are published for the event: adult entry is £15.99, child entry (ages 6 to 15) is £11.00, and there is a minimum fundraising target of £50. Children under 6 may attend free of charge but are not registered participants and must be accompanied. Child entries must be registered by a parent, guardian, or an adult with parental consent.
Facilities at the event include toilets, refreshments, bag drop, showers, parking, wheelchair access, support for pushchairs, and dogs allowed. Blue badge parking and accessible routes are available; additional parking is pay and display with a short walk to the site. Registered participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support, access to the event community, and a Race for Life medal.
