Race for Life Belfast : Stormont Estate
Race for Life Belfast is an organised running event at Stormont Estate in Belfast, hosted by Cancer Research UK. The event offers multiple route options:
- 10k
- 5k
- 3k
The course starts and finishes on an avenue within the estate on flat tarmac and follows a route through parkland toward the Parliament Buildings. The route is a double lap and surfaces include tarmac, hardstanding, gravel and woodland. There are inclines and declines on the approach to the Parliament Buildings with a maximum gradient of 12 percent; in poor weather grass and woodland sections may become slippery.
The 10k event is chip-timed. The site is described as wheelchair accessible with assistance; start and finish areas are on flat, firm tarmac. Event parking is provided within Stormont Estate via the Stoney Road entrance, with designated drop-off points and Blue Badge parking in car park D. Pedestrian access is via Stormont Gate and some bus services serve the venue.
Participants receive event support materials, including a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training plans and a Race for Life medal on finishing. A minimum fundraising target is stated and entry fees are listed within a range. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
