Race for Campus Safety - Salt Lake City, Utah
The Lauren McCluskey Foundation’s Race for Campus Safety on October 31, 2026, is a community event at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The event raises awareness and funds to improve how colleges respond to relationship violence and stalking. Students, families, advocates, campus communities, and volunteers take part by running or walking to support the foundation’s mission.
Course and entry options include both in-person and virtual formats. The 1K is two laps around the McCarthey Track and Field and shares the start and finish with the 5K and 10K courses. The 5K follows paved streets across the campus with directional signage. The 10K covers two full loops of the 5K course. The virtual 5K allows participants to choose their own course, enter their own time, download a race music playlist, and engage with the foundation on social media.
The day combines the race with a festival atmosphere. Attendees have access to resources and educational booths, live entertainment, cheer squads, mascots, inflatable obstacle activities, and yard games. Proceeds support the foundation’s work in research, advocacy, and programming to improve campus safety. In 2025, the event brought together more than 800 participants.
