Raccoon Run - Mantua
The Raccoon Run is an annual community race held at Mantua Elementary School in Fairfax, Virginia on May 9, 2026. The event features a 5-kilometer race and a 1-mile fun run, organized by Mantua Elementary School Kids Care Club with support from local school clubs. Proceeds benefit Life With Cancer, an INOVA Hospital program that provides education, counseling, and other support services for people living with cancer and their families.
Race entry is handled through online registration only. Published fees include a registration fee for the 5K and a fee for the 1 Mile Fun Run, with different pricing windows for the 5K. T-shirt requests are guaranteed only for registrations completed by April 26.
Race packets can be collected at the school main entrance the day before and on race morning. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 10 & Under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & Over. Prizes and post-race refreshments are provided.
Event rules note that headphones and dogs are not permitted in the 5K. Mantua Elementary students are encouraged to include their teacher's name when registering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
