About the Event
The Quitcherbitchen' Trail Run takes place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Phipps Diamond X Park, west of Billings, Montana.
Distances and Entry Fees
The event offers several distances:
- QTR 8mi: $60
- QTR 6mi: $60
- QTR 4mi: $60
- QTR 2mi: $45
- Junior categories for runners under 13 years old are available for the 2mi ($35), 4mi ($35), and 6mi ($35) distances.
Walkers are permitted and will start in the last wave of either the 4mi or 6mi events. Walkers are not permitted in the 8mi race.
Course and Support
All courses take place on the trails of Phipps Park. The routes are described as well-marked, with volunteers available on course. There is one water or aid station along the course, but it is a no-paper-cup event. Participants are asked to bring their own hydration pack or water bottle.
Awards and Prizes
Awards are given to the overall top three men and women in each race distance. A cash prize is mentioned: for the 4mi, 6mi, and 8mi distances, the first five female and five male finishers qualify for an "Oh Hell Bell!" cash giveaway totaling $600. The first person to reach the top of "The Beast" and ring the bell receives $20.
Post-Race and Logistics
Refreshments and door prizes are provided after the race. Packet pickup is available on Friday, July 31st, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The BaseCamp in Billings. Out-of-town participants can pick up their packets on race day at the race site between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM.
A portion of each registration fee ($2) is donated to local trails for maintenance and education. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
