Quicksilver Endurance Runs
The Quicksilver Endurance Runs are trail running events held in the Almaden Quicksilver County Park. These runs are sanctioned by USA Track & Field and contribute to the USATF Pacific Mountain-Ultra-Trail Grand Prix. The event features two distinct distances:
- 100 km: This course covers 62 miles with more than 13,000 feet of elevation gain.
- 50 km: This course covers 30.3 miles with more than 6,000 feet of elevation gain.
Participants in the 100 km event start at the Hacienda entrance of the park and must carry a light source for the early stages of the race. The event provides a collection box at the Wood Road aid station for runners to drop off headlamps, which are then transported to the finish area. Finishing the 100 km distance within the 17-hour time limit serves as a qualifying achievement for the Western States 100 lottery.
The event includes aid stations and course cutoff times to manage participant progress. Runners receive swag and are invited to a post-race party. The organization behind the event is a non-profit club that has donated proceeds to various charities and local organizations. Access to digital course maps, GPX files, and turn-by-turn directions is available for both distances to assist with navigation through the park trails.
