Montana Marathon - Billings, Montana
Opportunity Bank of Montana presents the 46th running of the Montana Marathon, a point to point race that finishes at Pioneer Park in Billings. The marathon course is USATF certified and is listed as a Boston qualifier. The route starts near Molt and follows rolling plains into Billings with a net descent of approximately 1,000 feet.
Race offerings include:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles; USATF certified Boston qualifier, Molt to Pioneer Park
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles; begins outside Billings, RRCA Montana State Championship
- 10K: Rimrock West Park to Pioneer Park, shuttle available
- 5K: Rose Park to Pioneer Park, YMCA buses available post race
- Virtual: no set distance, shirt mailed one week prior, no awards
Logistics note that there is no parking at several start areas and shuttles are provided from the Senior High School parking lot for the marathon, half, and 10K. The 5K start requires participants to drive to Rose Park; post race buses run between the finish area and Rose Park. Packet pick up is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, with location to be announced; limited race day pick up is available for out of town participants.
All participants receive finisher medals. Overall and age group awards are given for the marathon, half, 10K and 5K. Strollers are not allowed on the marathon or half courses and dogs are not permitted on any course. The course is open to traffic with volunteers at most intersections; participants are asked to remain on the right side of the road and to make themselves visible. Portapotties are provided at the bus loading area, at race starts, at multiple points along the course, and at the finish in Pioneer Park.
