Montana Marathon

Montana Marathon : Billings, MT : September 20, 2026
The Montana Marathon is a point-to-point race that begins on the rolling plains near Molt and finishes in downtown Billings at Pioneer Park. The course follows a gradual downhill descent with a net drop of over 1,000 feet and passes open plains and mountain views.

- Marathon (point-to-point, net drop over 1,000 feet)
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Little Buzz Run for ages 3-11: 1 mile, 1/2 mile, 1/4 mile
Race operations note that shuttles transport runners from the Senior High School parking lot to the start areas and that there is no parking at marathon and half marathon start locations. The 10K shuttle is optional; 5K participants drive to the start and post-race buses return runners to their cars.
The course is open to traffic. Runners normally run against traffic unless otherwise directed. Volunteers staff most intersections. Strollers and dogs are not permitted on the marathon or half marathon courses. Use of music devices with earbuds or earphones is strongly discouraged for visibility and safety.
Support on course includes portapotties at the bus loading area, the start of each race, multiple mile markers, and the finish, plus thirteen aid stations placed at approximately marathon miles 3, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25.
