Immigrants Run NYC 5K Run/Walk (Queens)
The Immigrants Run NYC 5K Run/Walk is organized by Queens Distance Runners and takes place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, passing landmarks such as the Queens Unisphere and the New York State Pavilion. The event includes an in-person 5K run/walk and a virtual option that allows participants to record and upload times and photos from Race Day through the following Sunday.
Half of event proceeds will benefit the organization N.I.C.E., with remaining proceeds used to cover event expenses. Packet pickup is available in advance on February 13 and in person on February 14 at the Queens Unisphere; virtual bibs are shipped within a window ranging from one week before to one week after the event. Previous events included hot cocoa and organizers plan to offer hot chocolate at this February race. A race DJ is scheduled to provide music after the finish.
Timing and race-day services include live online, text, and email results, same-day finish line photos, free finish line video, and personalized bibs for runners who register at least three weeks in advance. Age-group recognition is planned for top three male/female/nonbinary finishers in these categories: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 10-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Virtual participants may use measured tracks, treadmills, certified courses, or running apps to track distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
