Immigrants Run NYC 5K Run/Walk
Queens Distance Runners presents a 5K run and walk in Queens that highlights immigrant communities and supports access to local resources. Half of event proceeds are shared with NICE. The event is held in mid February and offers both in-person and virtual participation.
The in-person course circles Flushing Meadows Corona Park and passes the Queens Unisphere and the New York State Pavilion. Virtual participants may upload finish times and up to five photos from race day through the following Sunday. Virtual bibs are shipped in a window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after it.
Race day services include live results delivered online, by email, and by text, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance. Past editions included hot cocoa and a post race DJ. Parking is available at the Queens Museum building on Meridian Road, a short walk to the Unisphere for packet pickup. Early bib pickup is scheduled the evening before the event and in-person pickup is available on the day of the event at the Queens Unisphere. Age group recognition is planned across multiple male female and nonbinary categories from 19 and under through 70 and older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
