Putnam County Family YMCA Turkey Trot
The Putnam County Family YMCA Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day running event that includes a 5K, a 1 mile fun run, and a kids activity called the Kids Gobble Wobble. The course begins at the Putnam County Family YMCA and follows a loop that goes around Old Kentucky Road to Old Walton, then turns onto East Hudgens and Raider Drive. A course map is provided by the organizer.
Registration is handled fully online. Entry fees vary by registration period, with early and late tiers and a family pricing option. Packet pick-up is available curbside at Avery Trace Middle School the day before the event. The event has an associated food drive called Stuff the Streets; participants are asked to bring nonperishable food items to the YMCA or drop them off during the month of November to support local food pantries.
Proceeds and participant support benefit YMCA outreach programs, including Learn To Swim, Open Doors financial assistance, and the Cancer Recovery Program. These programs are described as providing swim instruction, financial help for program access, and wellness support for individuals affected by cancer.
