Purple Run
The Purple Run takes place on March 21, 2026 at Sunset Regional Park History Walk Trails in Las Vegas, NV. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 1/2 Marathon
The course runs on paved History Walk trails that are separated from vehicular traffic. The path is mostly flat with only slight inclines and declines and is walker and stroller friendly. Runners can see the Las Vegas Strip, Frenchman’s Mountain, landing aircraft, and local wildlife along the route.
Course layouts: the 5K is a single lap of the marked purple route and measures about 3.1 miles. The 10K consists of two laps of the 5K course. The half marathon uses portions of the purple, pink, brown, and turquoise paths and is three identical laps of about 4.37 miles per lap for a total of 13.11 miles; the half marathon course diverges from the 5K and 10K near mile 1.85.
Event services and logistics include race day packet pickup at the start area, parking near the History Walk entrance on Eastern Avenue, aid stations spaced about 1 to 2 miles apart offering cupped water and Gatorade, and a tarp area for gear bags that is not guarded. All race entries include a custom technical shirt, a finishers medal, event timing, post race food, access to aid stations, and eligibility for awards. Awards include finishers medals for all and overall and age group placements per the listed categories. Costumes and a dedicated area for purple tributes are encouraged; items left uncollected will be removed after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
