Purple Run in Las Vegas
Purple Run is a multi-distance road and park trail event held Saturday, March 20, 2027, at Sunset Regional Park in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event offers three distances:
- Half Marathon: 13.11 miles, three laps on paved History Walk trails.
- 10K: 6.2 miles, two laps of the 5K course on paved History Walk trails.
- 5K: 3.1 miles on paved History Walk trails.
The courses run on the History Walk paved paths, which are separated from vehicular traffic and are mostly flat with only slight inclines and declines. The routes are walker and stroller friendly and pass views of the Las Vegas Strip, Frenchman’s Mountain, aircraft landing patterns and local wildlife. Aid stations are placed about every 1–2 miles and provide cupped water and Gatorade, with refill options for runners carrying their own bottles or hydration systems.
The event has a purple music theme and encourages costumes and purple running gear. Organizers provide a technical race shirt (not guaranteed for very late registrants), finisher medals, post-race food, and award eligibility for overall and age-group placings. There are no pacers; crew and spectators may congregate at the start/finish area. Drop bags can be left near the start/finish but are not guarded. The race enforces a 3.5 hour cutoff and official finish times use gun time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
