Purple Polka Dot Race
The Purple Polka Dot Race is a charity walk/run and family fun run held at Stony Creek Metropark on August 9, 2026. The event includes multiple course options and directs all funds raised to the Vascular Anomalies Alliance (VAA).
Distances:
- 5 km walk/run
- 10 km walk/run
- Family fun run
The race was created after the founders’ child was born with a port wine stain, a type of vascular birthmark. The event aims to raise awareness about vascular birthmarks, encourage acceptance of visible differences, and share information about related medical and community resources.
Over the past nine years the event has raised more than $200,000 to support the vascular birthmark community. Organizers have also set explicit fundraising targets for specific years to support VAA programming and related services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
