Shelby Township Jingle Bell Run
The Shelby Township Jingle Bell Run is a community 5K event held at Burgess-Shadebush Nature Center in River Bends Park. The event offers both a timed 5K run/walk and an untimed 5K walk. All participants receive an event shirt, and the course is described as well marked and accurate. Post-race snacks are provided and there are raffle prizes totaling over $2500.
Timed entries are eligible for awards including overall male and female, masters male and female, senior masters male and female, and medals for the top three in each age group. A registration fee of $35.00 is listed for each 5K option. Early packet pickup and registration are available the day before at Hanson’s Running Shop in Utica on Hall Road. Signs at the Hamlin/Ryan Road entrance to River Bends Park will direct attendees to parking and check-in.
Proceeds from the event benefit several organizations, including Penrickton Center for Blind Children, Macomb County Special Olympics, Cat Tail Acres, Great Lakes Burn Center, and K9 Rescue.
