The Purple Heart takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Greenbelt 428 Park in Aubrey, TX 76227. The event offers multiple distances and a virtual option:

Event details and services
Registration for the 5K, 10K, half-marathon, 1 mile, Kid's Dash, and virtual option is available with listed entry fees. Participants who register for the 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and 1 mile receive an event-themed participation t-shirt and a finisher medal. Registrants are advised to register by 07/25 to guarantee shirt size. The half-marathon is run as two laps.
The Kid's Dash is a free short sprint of about 100–200 meters; dashers may purchase a t-shirt or finisher medal as add-ons. The 1 mile is an untimed event and does not have age group awards. The virtual option includes shipping of the shirt and medal.
Age group awards are given four deep across male and female divisions from 0-4 through 80+. Overall awards are given for overall male, overall female, masters (40+), and grand masters (60+) categories. Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. The organizer donates portions of profits and donations to listed charities. Volunteers may receive a code for a free race entry as a thank-you.
