The Purple Heart takes place at Greenbelt 428 Park in Aubrey, TX on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The event is presented by Run Different and includes multiple race options, a free Kid's Dash, and a virtual option. Registration items include an event-themed participation t-shirt (for 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and 1 mile), and finisher medals for the 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and 1 mile. T-shirt size guarantee requires registration by 07/25. Awards are distributed at the event and will not be mailed.

The Kid's Dash is a short 100–200 meter sprint and is free to enter; dashers may purchase a t-shirt or finisher medal as add-ons. The 1 mile option is untimed and does not have age group awards. Age group awards are given four deep by male/female divisions from 0-4 up to 80+. Overall awards include overall male and female, male and female masters (40+), and male and female grand masters (60+). The organizer will donate 50% of profits and 100% of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, and 10% of profits and 100% of donations to Encounter Church (Fate).
