Purple Heart : Aubrey, TX
The Purple Heart takes place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Greenbelt 428 Park in Aubrey, TX 76227. The event is presented by Run Different and includes in-person and virtual options. Course maps are provided for the 5K, 10K and Half-Marathon (listed as two laps). Check-in and on-site details are listed for race day. Awards are distributed at the event only and will not be shipped.
Events and entry
- Half-Marathon - $65 (price increases after March 31, 2026)
- 10K - $42 (price increases after March 31, 2026)
- 5K - $35 (price increases after March 31, 2026)
- 1 Mile - $18 (new untimed option; no age group awards)
- Kid's Dash - $0 (short 100–200 m sprint; t-shirt and medal available as add-ons)
- Virtual Option - $40 (registration available; shirt and medal shipped the week of the race)
Registration for some events closes on August 8, 2026. Participants who register by July 25 are guaranteed a t-shirt size for the 5K, 10K, Half-Marathon and 1 Mile.
Awards, age groups and charity
Finisher medals and eligibility for age group awards apply to the 5K, 10K and Half-Marathon; the 1 Mile receives a finisher medal but is untimed with no age group awards. Age-group awards are given four deep across male and female divisions from 0-4 through 80+. Overall, masters (40+), and grand masters (60+) categories receive overall medals.
Run Different donates to charities: 50% of profits and 100% of donations to Wounded Warrior Project; 10% of profits and 100% of donations to Encounter Church. Volunteer shifts are available and volunteers receive a code for a free race entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
