Event Overview
The Big One is a multi-event race taking place on Sunday, February 8, 2026 in Keller, Texas. The event starts and finishes at Keller Town Hall.
Distances
The event offers three different distances:
- 5K: A timed race on trails in Keller.
- 1 Mile: An untimed event.
- Kid's Dash: A free, short 100–200-meter sprint for children.
Registration Details
Registration for the 5K and 1 Mile includes an event-themed participation t-shirt and a finisher medal. To guarantee a t-shirt size, registration must be completed by February 2. The 5K race is gun-timed. Competitive runners are asked to line up towards the front, and race bibs must be visible on the front of the body.
Awards
In the 5K, the top four finishers in each age group receive an additional medal. Age groups range from 0-4 to 80+ for both male and female participants. Overall winners and masters (40+) and grand masters (60+) categories also receive overall medals. Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. Participants in the 1 Mile and Kid's Dash are not eligible for age group awards.
Additional Options
A virtual race option is available for 2026, where the shirt and medal are shipped to the participant. Volunteers can earn a code for a free race entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
