Mahoning Shadow Shuffle
The Mahoning Shadow Shuffle is a charity running event that benefits the Punxsutawney Area Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund. The event is based at Mahoning Valley VFW 2076, 121 Maple Ave, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, and uses the Mahoning Shadow Trail and Punxsutawney Rails to Trails as its course.
Professional timing and course marking are provided by Miles of Smiles. Pre-registration opens August 23 and pre-registered entries must be postmarked by September 26.
Distances offered:
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Pre-registration and day-of fees listed by the organizer are:
- Half Marathon: $30 pre, $25 day of race
- 10K: $25 pre, $30 day of race
- 5K: $25 pre, $30 day of race
Age categories apply to all races: Up to 20, 21 to 30, 31 to 40, 41 to 50, 51 to 60, 61 and up. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers overall and to top finishers in each age group.
Dogs may run if they are on a leash and under control; the first canine finisher in each race wins a prize. The event is held rain or shine and no refunds are given. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
