Groundhog Festival 5K - Punxsutawney, PA
The Groundhog Festival 5K takes place on July 3, 2026, in downtown Punxsutawney at 200 E Mahoning St. The event distance is a 5K road race held on local streets.
Registration opens March 22, 2026 and closes June 25, 2026. The listed registration fee is $20. In-person registration is held at the Shadow Hotel next to Barclay Park in downtown Punxsutawney. Registrations completed by June 23 are eligible to receive a t shirt.
The course is an out and back route that goes down Main Street, turns right onto Chestnut Street, continues to the end of Chestnut, and then makes a slight left to reach the turnaround point before returning to the start area. The route follows municipal streets in the downtown area.
Walkers are welcomed. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and by age group divisions: 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
