Pumpkin Run - Warsaw
The event is the second annual Pumpkin Run in Kosciusko County, held in Warsaw, IN near Pike Lake. The 5K course is a road course that passes Pike Lake and follows part of the Beyer Farm trail. Parking is available near the campground area and by the Pike Lake beach area.
Packet pick-up and day registration occur on race day; bibs, shirts, and pumpkins are distributed at packet pick-up. Pre-registration is required to guarantee a medal, pumpkin, shirt, or hoodie; pre-registration closes on November 6. The organizer lists these registration fees: the Pumpkin Run 5K has a fee, the Tough Pumpkin 5K has a higher fee, and the Pumpkin Mile is free.
The Pumpkin Mile is a children’s run where each participant receives a pumpkin and a finisher medal; the top five boys and top five girls overall are recognized with a special gift. Pumpkin painting and carving activities are available for all participants.
The Tough Pumpkin 5K supplies a pumpkin that participants must carry for the entire race; pumpkins at packet pick-up vary in size from a couple of pounds up to about 15 pounds. Tough Pumpkin registrants receive a lightweight hoodie, a special Tough Pumpkin finisher medal, and a goodie bag. Overall male and female winners receive awards.
