Event Overview
The Pumpkin Run is a seasonal running event held in Warsaw, Indiana. The course is a road route that takes participants through the Beyer Farm trail and offers views of Pike Lake. The event includes options for both runners and walkers, with various distances and participation styles available.
Race Categories
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- The Pumpkin Run 5k: A 3.1 mile race on a paved road and trail course.
- The Pumpkin Mile: A 1 mile run or walk offered free of charge.
- Tough Pumpkin 5K: A 5K category where participants are supplied with a pumpkin that must be carried for the entire duration of the race.
Location and Logistics
The event is based at 1011 E. Arthur Street. Parking is available in the lots near the campground and the Pike Lake beach area. All event materials, including bibs, shirts, and pumpkins, are collected on the day of the race during the designated morning registration window.
Amenities and Features
Participants in the 5K events receive a lightweight hoodie and a finisher medal. For the Tough Pumpkin 5K, a specific finisher medal is provided. The Pumpkin Mile targets younger participants, though it is open to all, and includes a finisher medal.
After completing their respective courses, all participants can select a pumpkin. The event also provides a cup of apple cider at the finish line. On-site activities include pumpkin painting and carving. Recognition is given to the overall male and female winners of the 5K, as well as the top five boys and girls in the 1 mile event.
