Pumpkin Run/Walk : Poseyville
The Pumpkin Run/Walk takes place Saturday, September 26 at North Elementary School, 63 W Fletchall St., Poseyville, IN 47633. The event offers multiple short-distance running and walking opportunities around the school and nearby streets.
Available distances include:
- 5K Run/Walk - 3.1 Miles
- 1 Mile Run - 1 Mile
- Kids Dash - 0.25 Miles
Registration fees are structured by date and event. General registration before Sept. 6 is $25 and includes a shirt. After Sept. 6 registration is $30 and includes a shirt while supplies last. A shirt-only option is $15 with limited supply after Sept. 8. Specific event fees include the 1 Mile at $25 with shirt or $15 without, and the Kids Dash at $15 with shirt or $5 without.
The course for the 5K and 1 Mile begins in front of North Elementary School, heads west on Fletchall Street, turns north on Lockwood Street, then onto Stewartsville Road, with a turnaround at Ramsey Road before returning to the school. The Kids Dash is for children 10 and under; the 1 Mile is for ages 13 and under. A course record of 19:08.8 is listed.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in standard age brackets and to top male and female walkers and 1 Mile finishers. New this year is recognition for top male and female stroller participants in the 5K. All scouts and leaders receive a patch. All registrants receive a pumpkin donated by Frey Farms. Registrants are entered into door prize drawings and must be present to win.
