PTI Run on the Runway
The PTI 5k/10k Run on the Runway is scheduled for March 28, 2026, at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina. The certified event takes place on the airport’s 9,000-foot parallel runway and benefits The Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, Greensboro Urban Ministry, and Open Door Ministries of High Point.
Event options include:
- 5k Run (timed)
- 10k Run (timed)
- Walk to Win Against Hunger (untimed)
- Kids 100-yard dash
The course is flat and smooth, wheelchair accessible, and baby stroller friendly; running strollers must have a minimum of 6 inch wheels. The layout provides a close-up view of the airfield and surrounding airport facilities. Because the event takes place on an active runway, participants must finish within the event’s operating window or they will be removed from the course and returned to the start/finish area by vehicle.
For safety and security, bicycles, rollerblades, and inline skates are not allowed. Dogs and other pets are prohibited. If the race is canceled for reasons beyond the race director’s control, refunds will not be issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
