Course, accessibility and organization
The event is based at Montrose Grove 16, 400 W Montrose Harbor Dr, Chicago, directly west of Montrose Beach. The 2025 course was changed because of construction on bridges and underpasses; the revised route includes sections along the lakeshore and contains two-way stretches and a segment north of Foster Beach where organizers advise caution. The 10k route includes a split that returns through the start line; runners are instructed to stay right at the split and to rejoin the 10k if they miss it and can do so safely.
Proud to Run Chicago is a 501(c)(3) charity organized by an all-volunteer board. Adaptive athletes are welcome and must notify the race director at least seven days before the event to arrange accommodations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
