Prostate Cancer Awareness 5K - Tappahannock
This is a 5K event in Tappahannock, Virginia, starting and finishing at the Essex County School Board Office, 109 Cross St. The race is organized with involvement from the Mu Xi Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Points earned at this event count toward the Year-Long 5K and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Registered runners receive a finisher medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. The registration fee for the 5K is $35; the price increases by $5 on race morning. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered before October 21; extra shirts may be available afterward but are first-come, first-served. Race day registration is offered, though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for those who register on race day. Packet pickup is available at the event.
Course support includes one water station at approximately mile 1.55, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restroom facilities will be available on site.
Results and media: live race results are posted on Athlinks and via a QR code at the race; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. Photos taken by staff are posted on social media by the Tuesday after the event. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories from 19 and under through 70 and over.
