Promise 5K & Bensky's Race
The Promise 5K is a fundraising run and walk held at Robbins Island Regional Park in Willmar, Minnesota. Proceeds support Children of the Promise and their work in Northern Haiti. The event is part of the Glacial Lakes Championship Running Series and includes official timing with results posted online.
The course follows walking trails through the park and around Willmar Lake. On site there are event features such as the Pie-K offering pie and displays of Haitian-made artwork. Information about the situation in Haiti is shared during the event.
The weekend program also includes a kids fun run named in honor of a child who lived at Children of the Promise. A virtual option is available for participants who cannot attend in person; the virtual run/walk can be completed locally or on a treadmill.
