Cardiff Half Marathon
The Cardiff Half Marathon is an annual mass participation road race that has grown into one of the largest road races in Europe. It is described as the UK’s second largest half marathon and Wales’ largest mass participation and multi‑charity fundraising event.
The race is a member of the SuperHalfs series and has been awarded an Elite Race Label by World Athletics. The event stages elite men’s, women’s and wheelchair races alongside thousands of other entrants. Over 27,500 people register each year, including first-time runners, charity fundraisers and participants of varied ages and abilities.
The course is presented as flat and fast and passes several of the city’s landmarks, including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, the Civic Centre and Cardiff Bay. Thousands of spectators turn out to support runners along the route.
The event also generates race results, photographic and video coverage and involves community activity such as volunteering and charity fundraising. Organisers list partners and community programmes linked to the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
