Event overview
The Hope for Horses 5k & 10k takes place on April 4, 2026, at Prince William Forest Park, 18100 Park Entrance Road, Triangle, VA 22172. Distances offered:

- 10k
Points from the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Spring Series. A virtual race option is available. The event supports Hope For Horses, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on rescuing and retraining off-the-track thoroughbreds and other horses.
Course and race details
The event uses a new trail route in Prince William Forest Park. The course includes hills and technical trail features such as roots, rocks, and inclines. Water stations:
- 10k: four stations at approximately miles 0.7, 2.9, 4.1, and 5.5
- 5k: two stations at approximately miles 0.7 and 2.4 Gatorade will be available at some stations.
Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in age groups (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+); overall top three are not eligible for age-group awards. Packet pickup is available at the event; there will be no on-site race registration. Parking is off the main road into the park at GPS 38.558624, -77.343487.
