Event overview
The 2026 Hope for Horses race is a trail event at Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, Virginia on April 4, 2026. The event offers a virtual race option. Points from the race count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and also count toward the Spring Series. The event supports Hope For Horses, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and retraining off-the-track thoroughbreds and educating the public on horse care.

The course is a trail route with hills and technical obstacles such as roots, rocks, and inclines. Water stations are placed at approximately mile markers 0.7 and 2.4 on the 5k, and at approximately 0.7, 2.9, 4.1, and 5.5 on the 10k; some stations will offer Gatorade. Restrooms are located near the visitor center. Parking is off the main road into Prince William Forest Park at coordinates 38.558624, -77.343487.
Runners receive a finisher’s coin, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before March 25. Registration fees include the park entrance fee; listed prices increase after March 15 and rise by $5 on race morning. There will be no on-site race registration. Live results and final series points are published after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to age-group placings.
