Pride of the Valley 5K and 10K
The City of Baldwin Park hosts the 31st annual Pride of the Valley event, featuring various running and walking distances. The event takes place at 4100 Baldwin Park Blvd in California. Participants can choose between several race options:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- Tike Trot (880 yards)
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles)
The 10K course consists of two loops of the original 5K route, with the loop-around point located at the start line. For young participants aged 8 and under, the Tike Trot offers a half-mile run or walk. This children's event is divided into three age categories: 4 and under, 5-6, and 7-8 years old.
The competition includes 19 different age categories for the main races. Awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place winners in each category. In the Tike Trot, medals are likewise awarded to the top three boys and girls in each of the three age divisions.
Every registered runner who completes their race receives a finisher's medal upon crossing the finish line. Additionally, all finishers receive a voucher for a complimentary burger provided by In-N-Out Burger. For those unable to attend in person, the virtual 5K option allows runners to complete the distance at their preferred time and location.
