Holiday Fun 5k, 10k, 15k, and Half Marathon
The Holiday Fun event takes place at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, based at Lake Balboa. This gathering provides a variety of distances on an open course where participants share the path with other pedestrians and cyclists. The event is designed for all levels and abilities, focusing on a relaxed and personal atmosphere.
The route consists of an easy out-and-back course. The path features one small hill located approximately 0.6 miles from the start line. A key safety requirement for all participants is to use the pedestrian tunnel rather than crossing Woodley Avenue. The distance options are organized into loops:
- 5k: one loop
- 10k: two loops
- 15k: three loops
- Half Marathon: three loops of 4.36 miles each
An aid station is available at every loop, providing water, Gatorade, and gels. The event has a time limit of 3 hours and 15 minutes, though early starts can be arranged if more time is required. Registration includes custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, and an assortment of snacks. Results and photos are typically available within 12-24 hours following the event.
