Holiday Fun 5k, 10k, 15k and Half Marathon - Lake Balboa, Van Nuys
This event offers multiple distance options around Woodley Park at Lake Balboa on December 12, 2026. The courses use an out-and-back and looped format with clearly marked routes. The half marathon is three 4.36 mile loops; the 5k, 10k and 15k use one, two or three shorter loops respectively. There is one small hill about 0.6 miles from the start on the looped course.
Aid stations appear on every loop and provide water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups and Gu gels. Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free photos and video, live results at finish, and access to a race app that stores race photos and videos. The event offers trophies and achievement badges for milestones and an Ascend Index ranking and social race features.
On race day parking is available in the Woodley Ave and Victory Blvd parking lots with an overflow dirt lot near the golf course; participants are asked to use the pedestrian tunnel rather than crossing Woodley Ave. Bibs must be visible on the front for photos and results. Transfers are handled through the organizer and there is a no refund policy. A 3 hour 15 minute course time limit applies; earlier starts may be arranged by contacting the organizer.
